Project Overview

The client entrusted me with transforming a real estate business into a strong and cohesive brand. To stand out in a competitive market, I developed a full branding strategy, designed the website UI/UX alongside a developer, and created printed materials for a consistent customer experience. Beyond digital touchpoints, I also advised on physical branding elements to maintain a unified brand presence across online and offline spaces.

Problem Statement

The client faced strong competition in the real estate market and lacked the knowledge to manage their online presence effectively, resulting in low customer engagement.

About the Project

About the Project

Golden Key Real Estate is a newly established real estate business in Ulsan, South Korea, looking to enhance its branding and digital presence. The client needed a unique visual identity to differentiate from competitors and a user-friendly website to attract potential buyers.

User Research

User Research

I conducted user research on local real estate offices to create an effective website and branding strategy. I analyzed competitor websites, their SEO performance, and regional demographics to understand what information potential buyers look for. Based on these insights, I created user personas and structured the website design to align with user needs.

WHAT MAKES OUR BRAND DIFFERENT?

Competitor analysis revealed that most nearby real estate offices used bold colours like red and pink. To create a more sophisticated and trustworthy brand identity, we developed a colour palette using complementary tons of deep green, navy, and warm orange. This not only differentiates the brand but also conveys professionalism and reliability.

Branding

To break away from the typical bold Sans—Serif fonts in real estate, we chose a Gugi (a handwritten style) font that adds warmth and approachability. Paired with a colour palette of Carrot Orange, Saffron, Dark Sea Green, and Charcoal Blue, the brand conveys trust, friendliness, and professionalism, making it both inviting and reliable.

Functional Design

I created a style guide for consistent branding, designed user flows for a seamless experience, and used Figma to develop interactive prototypes and a responsive website design for Golden Key Real Estate.

Printed Materials

Printed Materials

I created printed materials, including posters, business cards, contract folders, and banners, ensuring brand consistency in visuals and tone. Since Korea's real estate market values detailed content, I structured the design to align with client expectations. To enhance digital accessibility and reduce paper waste, I incorporated QR codes for seamless online access.

With multiple competing real estate offices nearby, I focused on differentiation. I designed the signage and window decals to create a welcoming yet professional atmosphere, ensuring the office stood out while remaining approachable. To attract passersby, I chose a bright and inviting aesthetic, incorporating a gradient film to reinforce the Golden Key brand identity. I collaborated closely with the client and signage installation team to ensure seamless execution aligned with the brand’s vision.

Reflection

Reflection

In this project, I worked closely with a developer while designing for both mobile and desktop. Since I created all the content from scratch, I first defined user stories and goals to guide the UX process. Through this, I learned how to consider technical limitations while designing UI and what designers should keep in mind for the next steps in development.

For printed materials, I handled direct communication with the client while also working remotely with production companies in Korea. Since I couldn’t meet them in person, I had to be extra clear in my communication to make sure everything turned out as planned. This was a fresh experience for me, and it made me realize how important detailed documentation and smooth collaboration are in design projects.
